- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide the elementary whole outline regarding principles and functionality of geographical systems, possibilities of use of GIS and application spheres of GIS. The students will gain primary knowledge regarding territorially oriented information systems in the Czech republic (town information systems and state information systems). They will learn thematic structure of these systems, data and cartographic foundations and used standards of state information system. The attention will be paid to frame introduction of main commercial products which are used for creation of territorially orientated information systems.

4. Standards of local identification of state information system
5. GIS of municipalities with broadened authority
6. GIS in towns and municipalities

9. Czech statistical office and state statistical service

11. Main commercial products used for creation of territorially orientated information systems

- 70% seminar attendance, presentation in seminar, written test aimed at verifying of theoretical (terminology, map sources of data, state information system and its registers, GIS of towns and municipalities) and practical knowledge (orientation in maps, territorially orientated data of selected information system, commercial products for creation of GIS)
