- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The main aim of the interpretation of the subject is to give complete outline of fundamental phases and the most important facts of economic, social, political and cultural development in the area of present Germany stressing selected issues of modern history. The students will gain basic findings about development tendencies and inversions which have marked history of historically changing companies living in our nearest neighbourhood. The questions regarding issues of older German history will be dealt with respect to highlighting a role of more general civilisation factors in dynamics of social structures, institutions and ideas in German settlement territory, more detailed attention will be paid to individual thematic circles from the verge of 18th century and especially then in 19th and 20th century. The course enable students to learn key events and paradigms of modern and current German history and understand why and how in different intensity and various forms they project to attitudes, behaviour and culture of German society. The work in tutorial forms space for deeper and more concrete evidence of some important facts of German history and opinions which refer to them, especially with regard to separate periods of development of Czech-German relations.
