Course objectives
The course has a practical focus introduces students to knowledge and skills in fighting breast cancer in women by means of proper prevention. Students will be trained to be able to systematically examine female breasts in cancer screening.
Syllabus
  • Practical sessions:
    1. Anatomy and physiology of the mammary gland
    2. Risk factors in breast cancer, genetically dependent forms of cancer
    3. Primary prevention
    4. Secondary prevention
    5. Tertiary prevention
    6. Inherited disorders of development and benign findings in the breast
    7. Clinical signs of breast cancer
    8. Breast self examination
    9. Diagnostic procedures in mammary gland disorders
    10. Breast cancer therapy
