Course objectives
The course presents the origin of theoretical concept of political culture in the works of American political scientists Almond and Verba and with changes of its understanding from the 60´s till present day. On the example of Czech political culture, the role of political culture in modern society will be analysed more closely together with its foundation and interconnection with democratic political order and influence of totalitarian dictatorships on its form. The special attention will be paid to the role of political culture for stability of political regime and its manifestations in the moments of political changes, including post-communist period.
