- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to introduce the security theory to the students. After passing the subject, the student is familiar with perception of security and understands the existing approaches to security conception. The attention is paid also to the security policy of individual Central European countries, with focus on the Czech and the Slovak Republic.

- 1. Security. Terminology in security.
2. Security policy.
3. Security strategy. Security system.
4. Character of the Central European countries from the point of view of security policy. (2 lectures).
5. Security threats of Central Europe.
6. International organizations coping with international security.
7. The Maastricht Treaty and the second pillar of EU.
8. Participants and tools of common foreign and security policy.
9. Security policy of the CR and security strategy of the CR.
10. Security policy of the SR and security strategy of the SR.
11. Security strategy documents.
