Course objectives
Goal of this subject is to acquaint students with historical context of family policy. Within the framework of this subject, students will familiarize with basics, social context and ways of making analytical and projection phase of family policy. They will try model situations for the creation of analytical part. Likewise, they will familiarize with creation of strategical documents. As a students, they will be prepared for active work.
Syllabus
  • 1. Legal standards and strategical documents at the state level.
    2. Development of family policy.
    3. International strategic documents, family policy areas, Istanbul convention.
    4. Social and sociological background of family policy.
    5. Areas and principles of family policy. Structure of family policy.
    6. Family cycle as the basis for dokument creation.
    7. Analytical part of family policy, its context, preparation, realisation and evaluation of focus group as a basic tool for analytical part.
    8. Ethical dilemma of family policy.
    9. Connections between strategic city documents and family policy.
    10. Public guardian competencies and his links to pro-family policy.
    11. Examples of good practice, comparison of selected cities.
    12. Private subjects´ approaches to family family policy in organisations established by state and comercial sphere.
    13. "Family friendly community" model.

Assessment methods
he output will be a seminar paper based on an analysis of the principles of family policy in the place of residence or in the nearest larger town. The analysis will be submitted in the e-learning system, where the student will be given feedback and / or obligations to complete it. The student can consult working parts with the teacher on an ongoing basis.
