- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to convey information from the field of general psychology and personality psychology. These are essential for all helping professions and relate to working with people and understanding topics such as personality structure, information processing, cognitive personality, motivation, and more.
- Learning outcomes
- Field knowledge: The student acquires and demonstrates knowledge of basic psychological concepts, can characterize the essential features of individual mental processes, states and characteristics of the individual, understands the laws and conditionality of cognitive processes such as perception, thinking, memory, speech, communication, etc. Demonstrates knowledge of peculiarities in emotional and free sphere of man. Demonstrates knowledge of basic theories of personality, can characterize the essential determinants of personality formation, especially the role of biological and social factors. The student will be able to understand the structure and dynamics of personality, learn to orient in the individual components of personality (for example, how to personalize the personality and how to stimulate its development). He will be able to understand, analyze, evaluate and interpret the behavior and experience of human personality.
Field skills: The student is able to orientate in various theories of personality and use the acquired knowledge in working with clients. He orients himself reliably in the relevant professional literature, is able to search for, interpret and apply the acquired information in counseling work. He is able to connect the acquired knowledge with the needs of practice within the studied program. Can apply biological, social and personal determinants in the formation and formation of human personality. The student is able to perceive the importance of biological and social determinants in the process of personality formation with possible risks of social pathological phenomena.
General competences: By completing the course, the student will be able not only to use their knowledge and skills in specific work with clients, but will be adequately and professionally qualified in counseling, work and professional teams. The acquired competence is the ability to apply the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in the daily life of their clients, including the solution of their current problems. He / she will acquire a critical approach to the presented procedures, he / she is able to actively reflect and analyze his / her own work. Through methods in teaching the subject, the student supports the development of critical thinking, creativity and the ability to make decisions professionally, correctly, independently and responsibly. Information on the extent and intensity of the course: Přednáška 12 HOD/SEM. - Teacher's information
- During the semester, 12 hour tutorial will take place which includes explanations of difficult parts of the curriculum. In the course of continuous study, students use the study material which they process to fulfil selected correspondence assignments which are discussed in individual and group consultations.
Students will be able to continuously consult the topics studied individually via e-mail, or in individual or team consultations upon request. Consultation days and hours are set by the instructor at the beginning of the semester but the instructor is also available by prior arrangement according to the students’ needs.
