Course objectives
Students will expand their means of expression - current German terminology in relation to special pedagogy and disability symptomatology. They will further deepen their knowledge of the personalities of German-speaking countries who have fundamentally influenced the development of the field of special education. Emphasis will continue to be placed on working with and understanding foreign language texts, searching for information related to special pedagogy. Students will also gain a more detailed overview of German terminology in the field of speech therapy, deaf therapy, ophthalmopedics, somatopedia, psychopedia and autism spectrum disorders.
Learning outcomes
Expertise:
- expands active and passive vocabulary - deepens their knowledge of German terminology with a link to the field of special pedagogy by learning isolated German concepts and through work with foreign language texts
- gain an overview of selected current publications of German-speaking authors related to the field of special pedagogy and improve their current knowledge about the field by searching for information
- deepen their knowledge of important personalities of German-speaking countries with a connection to the field of special pedagogy
- expand their language skills in the field of special needs (physical, mental and social)
- expand their knowledge in the field of speech therapy, deaf therapy, ophthalmopedics, somatopedia, psychopedia and in the field of autism spectrum disorders in the German language in connection with the knowledge acquired in the Czech language
Professional skills:
- improve their German language comprehension skills
- further deepen the overview of education and employment opportunities of people with special needs in selected areas of German-speaking countries and in the Czech Republic by working with texts and independent search of information in the media
- expand their awareness of job opportunities and other life realizations of people with special needs by watching short documents and discussing them
General competences:
- increase awareness of educational processes in other European countries

  • 5. Autism spectrum disorders, comparison with terminology in German-speaking countries.
  • 6. Somatopedia, comparison with terminology in German-speaking countries.

  • 8. Surdopedia, comparison with terminology in German-speaking countries.
  • 9. Ophthalmic therapy, comparison with terminology in German-speaking countries.

Entry level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference. The condition for credit award is fulfilment of all assignments in the e-learning environment.

Teacher's information
Personal contact in teaching, consulting hours. During continuous study, the student uses the study support and processes selected correspondence tasks. Here he will also demonstrate knowledge of compulsory literature and contact teaching lectures. The student will be able to continuously consult individually studied topics of the subject through e-mail, individual or group consultations.
