- Course objectives
- The course objective is to reflect on the professional work experience in the context of supervision which leads students to acquire these basic skills in the area of supervision.Students are familiar with basic knowledge about the forms and goals of supervision, including basic supervisory approaches and ethical principles of supervision.Attention is also paid to the process of preparation, negotiation and content of the supervision contract.The course emphasizes group supervision work, team supervision, including applying Balint groups in supervision.Students are familiar with the basic information and the use of transactional analysis and psychodrama in supervision and with selected supervision techniques.The aim of the course is to provide a functional connection of the theoretical base with practical application of gained knowledge.

- Professional Knowledge
Students acquire and demonstrate knowledge of basic forms and objectives of supervision and their approaches and they will know the ethical principles of supervision.They can characterize the essential features of a supervisory contract, group and team supervision, and are well versed in selected supervisory techniques.
Professional Skills
Students are able to collaborate in the creation of a supervisory contract, find situations (contracts), with which they enter into supervision, work on the formulation of contracts under the guidance of a supervisor, work under the guidance of a supervisor on the performance of the contract, be open to feedback, recognize the usefulness of feedback for their work and use reflection and feedback obtained for the development of their own professional competence in social work practice.Students will be able to actively cooperate in supervisory group, provide feedback to the supervisor and the supervisory group, use supervision in dealing with complex client cases, benefit from supervision while defending themselves against stress and emotional strain, identify their strengths and weaknesses, carry out self-reflection, and continually assess the fulfilment of the supervision objectives.
General Qualification
Students can define the concept of supervision and identify individual forms, methods and supervisory approaches.They know the ethical principles of supervision, have basic knowledge about the possibilities, structure and content of the supervision contract and also know the possibilities, limits, benefits and risks of supervision.Student understand supervision as part of the social work profession and know the possibilities of further education in supervision.Students are responsible to themselves, the clients and their vocation, they accept the ethical principles of social work, understand and apply them in practice, accept supervision as a means to their own professional growth. - Syllabus
