- Prerequisites
- The aim of the course is to provide students with information on the problem of the abused, abused and neglected child. The content of the course focuses on both the historical background of this phenomenon and its development up to the present. Attention will also be focused on the personality of the individual in the social environment, on the various forms of child abuse. In relation to the studied field, the course also focuses on the issue of prevention of CAN syndrome, legal aspects (e.g. the Convention on the Rights of the Child), care of a child suffering from CAN syndrome. By completing the course, the student will gain an orientation in the problems of CAN, will be able to design appropriate content of e.g. prevention programs focused on this area, etc.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the issue of syn. CAN, its manifestations, consequences and legal standards for the protection of children.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to identify and classify various forms of child maltreatment, including physical, emotional, sexual abuse, and neglect. Students will demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on approaches to child maltreatment and exhibit ethical sensitivity in their professional decision-making and practices. Students will gain knowledge of key legal documents and norms related to child protection, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and will be able to apply this knowledge in practice.
