- Course objectives
- The course objective is to introduce to the terminology of anatomical structures and structures of organ systems of the human body. Physiology builds on the knowledge of anatomy to acquaint students with the functions of individual organs and organ systems.
- Learning outcomes
- Professional Knowledge:
- the students can define the concepts of anatomy, such as the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, bones, joints and more
- students can explain terminology
- students can also explain the functions of individual functional systems of the human body
Professional Skills:
- students can use expert terminology
General qualification:
- students are well versed in the terminology and use acquired knowledge in pedagogical practice
- students can assess the anatomical and physiological abnormality in special educational diagnostics - Syllabus
- 1. Functional morphology of tissues. Cell, functions of cells, organelles, reproduction, cell death. Types of tissues, structure and function of tissues.
- 2. Determining direction and planes, description of the human body. Introduction to Latin terminology. Basic types of movements (extension, flexion, etc.).
- 3. Musculoskeletal system, bone structure, functions of bones, skeleton, bone growth, joint, joint connections.
- 4. Blood, hemostasis, ABO, hematopoietic function of blood, blood components. Body fluid, homeostasis, ABR, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid, hydration Immunity, vaccination, lymphatic system. The circulatory system - the blood vessels, heart, small and large circulation.
- 5. Respiratory system, anatomy and physiology of the airways, breathing control.
- 6. Digestive system, description of the organs of the digestive system, their functions, locations. Liver, pancreas, gallbladder. Nutrition.
- 7. Excretory system, description of the structure and function of organs of the excretory system. Urine and its composition.
- 8. Endocrine system - the humoral management of the body, description of the structure and function of the endocrine glands.
- 9. Reproductive system - description of the structure and function of reproductive organs of men and women, reproduction, intrauterine development.
- 10. Nervous system - the peripheral nervous system, its description and functions of the CNS, autonomic nervous system.
- 11. Sensory organs. Vision, hearing, equilibrium system, taste, smell, touch.
- 12. Muscles, muscle structure, types of muscles, muscle function, innervation.
