Course objectives

Course introduces students to complete issues of developing economies in the context of the global economy, with emphasis on the EU. It includes theoretical approaches to the problems of underdevelopment and economic development, concepts, definitions and typology of the developing economies. Emphasis is placed on the practical analysis of the major problems of the developing world, as well as on the analysis of the developing regions in the world economy. The course is a practical extension of courses World Economy and Economic Policy from the perspective of less developed economies.

  2. Definitions, characteristics and typology of the developing economies
  3. The impacts of globalization and world trade on developing economies
  4. The issue of health, poverty and education in the developing world
  5. Developing economies, demographic and environmental issues
  6. Global security and development in the concept of developing economies
  7. Economic characteristics of the developing region of Africa
  8. Economic characteristics of the developing Asia-Pacific region
  9. Economic characteristics of the developing regions of Latin America and the Caribbean
  10. Trade policy of developing economies
  11. The issue of indebtedness of developing countries
  12. Cooperation developed economies and international organizations with developing economies
  13. Integration trends of developing economies
