Course objectives
The course acquaints students with the external economics relations of the national economy and the importance of foreign trade for the country's economy. To the extent necessary, students will be acquainted with the theory of trade and problematic of balance of payment and external balance of the country. Further, students will acquire knowledge of the measurement of foreign trade and fundamental indicators of its intensity. Emphasis is placed on international trade policy and its formation, the foreign trade policy and its instruments and common commercial policy of EU member states. Within the framework of the course is also analysed specific features of small economy and problem of the transformation of centrally planned economies in the area of foreign trade. To the extent necessary, the course deals with problematic of business operations.
