- Course objectives
- In the lectures, students will get acquainted with the basics of the geography of tourism, including the definition of concepts, factors of development and distribution of tourism. There will also be a presentation of the geography of tourism in the Czech Republic and in selected regions of Europe and non-European regions.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- identify and summarize important features of tourism development in the Czech Republic, Europe and outside Europe;
- compare differences in selected tourist areas from the point of view of tourism;
- present selected tourist attractions in selected regions of the world; - Syllabus
- 1. Basics of tourism geography
Subject of study of tourism geography and its methods, attractiveness, forms and types of tourism, classification, typologization and regionalization of areas and centers of tourism.
2. Infrastructure, services and potential of tourism
Economic, social and ecological aspects of tourism development, selective, localization and implementation factors of tourism development.
3. Regionalization of tourism in the Czech Republic
Municipal monument reserves and zones, UNESCO monuments, national cultural monuments, church monuments, technical monuments, tourist regions of the Czech Republic 4. Regionalization of tourism 1
States of Southern, Western, Central, Northern and Eastern Europe 5. Regionalization of tourism 2

Assessment methods: attendance at seminars min. 60% (10% evaluation), evaluation of seminar work (15% evaluation) and its presentation (15% evaluation), written exam (60% evaluation).
