Course objectives (in Czech)

Zopakovat a prohloubit již dosažené znalosti gramatického a lexikálního systému anglického jazyka a jeho aplikace na anglický odborný jazyk na úrovni intermediate, a to obzvláště v ekonomické a obchodní sféře. Seznámit studenty se systémem jazyka v jeho užívání ve zmíněných sférách s aplikací zajímavých, odborných, praktických a aktuálních textů pro poslech a čtení. Seznámit je se způsoby tvoření a obohacování slovní zásoby. Vést studenty k uvědomělému a cílevědomému používání jazyka v běžné a odborné komunikaci jak z hlediska plynulosti, tak gramatické přesnosti.

  Obsah předmětu:
  1. A new project
  Tense review, Present Simple and Continuous, action and state verbs
  Introductions and greetings, Welcoming a visitor
  2. A better way of working?
  Past Simple and Present Perfect Simple review, used to + infinitive, subject and object questions
  Company and job profile, Making and changing appointment
  3. World cities
  Comparative and superlative adjectives, a lot/much, slightly/a little, relative clauses, numbers; compounds and collocations
  Expressing opinions, Chairing a meeting
  4. Changing trends
  Present and past trends, adjective vs. adverbs, Numbers and percentages
  Advice and suggestions
  5. The challenge of the century
  Past Simple active vs. Passive, Past Continuous, Past Perfect, Gerunds

  V rámci výuky předmětu a k jeho prezentaci jsou využívána elektronická média. Studenti pracují s anglickými internetovými stránkami při vyhledávání textů do výuky. K dispozici jim jsou stránky katedry cizích jazyků www.opf.slu.cz/kcj, na kterých se nacházejí podrobnější informace k danému předmětu a úkoly pro práci s internetem. Mají možnost využít slovníky na internetu např. www.seznam.cz, nebo www.translator.cz.
