  • 1. Definition of the World Economy
  • The world economy as a representation of the global economic system. Categories of the world economy. Description of the basic contours of the global economic system (subjects of the global economy and their arrangement).
  • 2. Issues of International Comparison
  • The theory of international comparison. Basic national economic indicators from the perspective of international comparison. Comparing economic systems.
  • 3. International Division of Labor and Classification of Countries
  • Factors of formation (colonialism and its decline, industrialization of developing countries) and the development of the global economic system. Current classifications of countries.
  • 4. Globalization and the Emergence of the Mega-Economy
  • The phenomenon of globalization and its historical development. Global issues. International economic organizations as tools for solving global problems.
  • 5. Transnational Corporations as a Force in the World Economy
  • The emergence and development of multinational companies. Organizational structure and forms of activity. International activities of small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • 6. Integration Processes in the World Economy
  • Causes of the emergence of international economic integration. The theory of international economic integration. Territorial integration groupings.
  • 7. Theory of International Trade
  • International trade and the national economy. Classical theories of international trade. Protectionist theories and international trade policy. Types and forms of international trade.
  • 8. International Movements of Production Factors – Labor
  • Causes of population migration. Basic forms of migration. Trends in the international migration of labor. Employment in the global economy.
  • 9. International Movements of Production Factors – Capital
  • Causes of international capital movement. Forms of movement. Consequences of international capital movement on national economies.
  • 10. Natural Factors and Ecological Aspects in the World Economy
  • Land and water in the process of international economic development. Natural and climatic factors and their impact on the functioning of the global economy.
  • 11. Monetary Sphere of the World Economy
  • Definition of the monetary sphere. Basics of the balance of payments. International monetary system and exchange rates. International financial markets.
  • 12. The Czech Republic in the World Economy
  • Basic macroeconomic international comparison of the position of the Czech economy. Current issues of its development in an international context.
