- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic concepts of information management such as data, information and knowledge in the context of information and knowledge society. The course is also focused on trends in information and knowledge management and modern technology.

- Basic data types. Life cycle information. Asymmetry of information. Evaluation and measurement of information. Rating information by content quality. The life cycle of knowledge. Basic types of knowledge. Wisdom.
- 2. Information and knowledge society
- Information Society. A knowledge society. Information literacy. The knowledge economy.
- 3. Information science and information resources
- Information science. Library science. Information process. Information sources. Database. Catalogs. E-learning. Open Access. Searching for documents. Description of documents. Document content characteristics. Quote. A reshuffle.
