Course objectives
Course objectives: After completing the course successfully, students will reach the B2 level (SERR). The course focuses primarily on six selected fields of economics, companies, employment and unemployment, market, marketing, bank and money. In the seminars, students will improve the interpretation of the terms and grammar typical of professional language. Attention will also be paid to the professional vocabulary, definitions and phrases, including schematics, diagrams, and tables for an easy memorization of terms in a foreign language and at the same time for the structuring of knowledge of economic issues of any kind. Students will also work actively in seminars with professional texts including content, grammatical, lexical and translational fields. Emphasis will also be put on the language skills of reading, writing and speaking in the above economic issues.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes: The student masters the four language skills—reading, writing, speaking, and listening—within the scope of the module’s curriculum. They understand the vocabulary required by the curriculum and can apply it in both oral and written communication. They are able to classify and describe human needs, explain economic units, and classify basic economic principles. Furthermore, they can classify the legal forms of companies and explain how they operate, as well as describe the principles of monetary policy. They demonstrate knowledge of professional terminology and vocabulary related to the labour market. In addition, they can understand specialist texts in the field of marketing, describe distribution channels, present a logistics company, and explain activities within their professional field.

  • Logistics Distribution channels. Presentation of a logistics company. Transport inquiry. Job description of a driver.

    Teacher's information
    The course is completed with a credit. For the oral mid‑term test, students prepare an oral presentation on one of the above‑mentioned topics, which is assessed by the instructor on a scale from 0 to 30 points according to the quality of the presentation. The final credit test is worth 70 points. Successful completion of the course requires obtaining at least 60 out of the possible 100 points.
