- Course objectives
The aim of the course is to develop the pedagogical competencies of academic staff so that they are able to plan, deliver, assess, and reflect on teaching in a high-quality, effective, and innovative way. Emphasis is placed not only on supporting students’ active learning, but also on the personal and professional growth of teachers, the enhancement of their digital skills, and the strengthening of their language competencies necessary for work in an international environment.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, participants will be able to plan and structure teaching in accordance with course objectives and students’ needs, select and apply appropriate teaching methods and techniques that foster active learning, and reflect on and evaluate students’ learning outcomes using suitable assessment tools and feedback. They will also be able to create an inclusive and motivating learning environment that supports collaboration and respects diversity, effectively use digital technologies and modern tools to enhance teaching in both face-to-face and online settings, and communicate subject matter clearly in Czech and in a foreign language while engaging confidently in international academic contexts. At the same time, they will be prepared to continuously develop their own teaching practice through self-reflection and the sharing of best practices with colleagues.
- Teaching methods
- The course combines theoretical self-study with practical assignments and interactive sessions. Participants will attend four four-hour meetings. The first three sessions focus on sharing experiences, developing teaching skills, and applying newly acquired knowledge to their own teaching practice. The fourth session is dedicated to portfolio presentations, discussion, and sharing the outcomes of applying the course content in teaching. An integral part of the course is the creation of a portfolio in which participants reflect on their own teaching and document the application of the course content to their pedagogical work.
- Assessment methods
- Successful completion of the course requires active participation in all four sessions, completion of assigned self-study tasks, and submission of a portfolio in which participants reflect on their teaching and document the application of course content to their pedagogical practice. Participants who meet all requirements will be awarded a micro-certificate.
