- Course objectives
- The course aims to prepare the student areas: - basic health crisis solving problems in the field and emergency situations, - the problems of infectious diseases (agents, capabilities, and the process of dissemination of disease transmission, anti-epidemic measures in the liquidation process resulting from the epidemic), - abuse or bioterrorist incidents in biological laboratories.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction to the field of hygiene and water supply in field conditions.
2. Water security for exceptional situations.
3. Health risks from water, air and soil.
4. Accommodation in field conditions
5. Health risks from food and emergency subsistence benefits
6. Food safety
7. Protection of personnel against physical, chemical and biological effects
8. Possibilities of misuse of biological agents. The threat of biological warfare and bioterrorism imported diseases. Methods of development, synthesis and use of biological weapons. Biological programs developed countries.
9. Biological accident. Examples of procedures for their liquidation.
10. Mechanisms for dissemination of biological agents and the basic manifestations of infectious diseases.
11. Implementation of hygienic-epidemiological and biological research, evaluation results survey. Possibilities of recognizing the use of biological weapons. Detection and identification of biological agents, early warning of the population.
12. Measures and conditions for transportation of highly hazardous biological samples. Degrees of biosafety laboratory facilities.
13. Transport and care for affected people, protective biobag, insulating units. Insulation, observation and quarantine.
14. Aspects of the disease caused by the use of biological weapons (epidemiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment, prevention).
15. Individual and collective protection against biological agents.
16. Possibilities of decontamination and disinfection after use of biological weapons.
17. Health risks of staying in the field. Health risks of staying in the natural outbreaks of disease. Vector-borne diseases, prevention - appropriate clothing, use repellents, insecticides, proper tick removal techniques. Injuries unknown animal. Climatic injuries (overheating, hypothermia) - first aid.
