Course objectives
The purpose of this subject is to make students familiar with foundations of the mathematical economy as a part of pure mathematics.
Syllabus
  • - distributions and preferences as an axiomatic system
    - Arrow theorem
    - continuous preferences and corresponding utility functions
    - utility maximization on the budget set
    - dissatisfied demand and Walras law
    - the price simplex
    - Brouwer and Kakutani fixed point theorems with applications
    - existence of the price equilibrium
