Syllabus
  • The Seminar will be devoted to various mathematical disciplines, which students will meet during their studies to a greater or lesser extent, and connections between them, both from a historical perspective and also from the perspective of contemporary modern science. Students will learn how and why complex numbers have developed and get a brief introduction to topology. We'll talk about infinite sets,
and infinite sums, about the Pythagorean theorem and its connections with the university mathematics, about fractals and chaos, about solving a 5th degree polynomial equation and group theory, of graph theory, a non-Euclidean geometry, the history of the calculus e discovery and number theory and coding.
