- Course objectives
- The basic function of the museum - selection, thesauration and presentation - by the existence of the museum as an institution - their importance, their connections, influence on society - historical context - the current situation, the importance of the basic mission of the museum, the museum and the city museum and the region - economic and social ties: promoting knowledge economy, tourism and information technology.
- Syllabus
- 1. The museum's collection - management of museum collections and the use of this method in control museums, the importance of strategic planning in the museum. Architecture museum buildings - museums influence on the development of architecture - building-symbol, examples of world and Czech architecture. Museum management - an important part of the functioning of museums in contemporary society, internal and external organization of work in the museum, the importance of public services (general and specific)
2. Funding museums, museums and public relations budgets, the importance of museums as institutions, specific examples - cultural projects, the world's major museums and Czech, legislation. Knowledge economy, the role of museums in the economic process of the company - the importance of museums for the knowledge economy and tourism industry. Information technology - types and possibilities of practical museology. Specific examples - used in the selection, thesauration and presentation.
3. Introduction to the documentation centers, www.pages the world's major centers muzeologických (ICOM and its professional international commission, e-museum.cz). The relationship between museology and related disciplines (conservation, archival, library and environmental protection. Museum of selection - methods and approaches practical experience. Museum thesauration-creation thesaurus collections following the profile of the museum. Museum presentation - forms and methods of the public. Museography - methods, Czech museums in the context of the world - current status, problems and prospects.
