Course objectives
The aim of the course is to obtain an overview of the  labour market, its development and current situation, to acquire information about  individual preparation and steps that the student should take when looking for a job. Furthermore, students will learn how to use social networks to their advantage, how to present themselves and what pitfalls may occur in   connection with them. Students will also learn the basic issues of labour law. The subject is designed for a theoretical part and a practical part.

Syllabus
  • 1. Recruitment process, CV and motivation letter 2. Where to look for a job, employee selection methods and Assessment centre 3. How to prepare (dress code, info about  company, self-presentation, how to sell yourself, stress at the interview) 4. Communication noise at the interview, errors of perception, non-verbal communication, feedback, how to request feedback, how to respond to feedback 5. Practical lesson – exercises 6. Practical lesson – exercises 7. Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram. 8. Trends and quality sources of information 9. Practical lesson – exercises 10. Labour market - demography, market situation, average wage 11. Labour law I. – establishment of employment, employment contract, employment, termination of employment (severance pay) 12. Labour law II. - shifts, leave, sickness, maternity and parental leave, unpaid leave 13. Outplacement – theory, exit interviews, case study and case study for outplacement
