Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course, following the previous study if the language, is to develop further the communicative competence. The attention will be paid to translations of press of European Union (Débats sur l´Europe) which inform about the activity of European Union. It comprises notices, acts, orders in the field of economy and policy of member and candidate countries. The attention will be paid also to grammatical phenomena in individual articles. The course is intended for Department of Public Administration and Regional Policy students only. Compulsory selection of one of the languages English for PA, German for PA, French for PA. The Department of Public Administration and Regional Policy can be asked to recognize the credit on the base of document (certificate) of exam on corresponding level.

    3. Different extra-language reality, different language expression of identical reality
    4. Equivalence, shifts and losses in translation
    5. Naming reality in French context
    6. Question of translationable and intranslationable
    7. Faux-amis (False friends)
    8. Influence of French in translation into Czech, word fillings
    9. Characteristics and translation of text of notice, act, order
    10. Characteristics and translation of law text (act etc)
    11. Word-stock, connotation and translation
    12. Searching for minimal semantic units; definition, terminology, normalized terminology
