Course objectives
The aim of the course English 3 is that the graduates are able to lead basic communication in English about topics relating to their future profession, orientation in these topics (specialized word-stock in PA 1), as well as development of language skills of general English. The focus will be put on all parts of study of Language: Writing, Reading, Listening, Speaking and especially on part FCE GRAMMAR. Accompanying grammar material: test according to the certificate FCE - USE OF ENGLISH. In the group of pre-intermediate students there will be revison of pre-intermediate language skills, unifies the language level of the students. The excercises will be focused on all areas of language study: grammar, reading, listening, speaking, and especially on the part of PET READING. Accompanying grammar material: test according to the certificate PET - READING. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Students will acquire basic knowledge and vocabulary for travelling and staying at a hotel, teaching techniques and ways to study. They will be also able to navigate their way in sales and marketing and talk about cultural events (e.g.. film). They will be able to describe and express personal image and present themselves in public situations. General Skills: Students will be able to express the ratio and the amount of things, describe future action from more certain to less certain, express real condition in the future, describe things that are necessary, useful, unnecessary or uncertain. They will also be able to express future plans and general predictions. General Qualification: Students will be able to set up a curriculum and choose various techniques of study, obtain basic vocabulary for conducting meetings, human resources management, cooperation with trade unions and labour federations. Testing by the FCE test USE OF ENGLISH (intermediate). Testing by the PET test, part READING (pre-intermediate). Competences: Students will be able to share their opinion and suggest solutions, arrange business issues and administer changes. They will also be able to speak about events that take place in the coming days and in the near future.

Teacher's information
The condition for obtaining credit is active participation in consultations.
Pass-mark of the test on grammar and vocabulary from selected lessons of the textbook - 60%.
Pass-mark of the FCE test USE OF ENGLISH READING or PET part READING - 60%.
Credit for distance study - performance in activities, passing the credit test.
The instructor will notify the students on the topics that have not been fully lectured for them to seek in the compulsory literature or at the e-learning site.
