Cíle předmětu
The aim of this advanced course is to bring students to an internationally recognised level of written and spoken English. Past experience has shown that it opens new opportunities to students in companies, teaching etc. because it shows that the student has reached a very high competence in general English.

Obsah kurzu:
1. Looking good.
Picture discussion, different types of clothes
Reading: words about clothes, physical features, general build, unusual habits, voice or laugh, unusual marks (e.g. scars, moles).
Use of English: used to/.would/can/could/may/might
Composition: description of someone
Listening: connecting description of clothes to different situations.
Speaking: problem solving
Revision and extension:
2. Too much of a good thing.
Reading: words about food and shopping; phrasal verb (put); reading about different national foods;
Use of English: countables/uncountables; future forms.
Composition: a letter of application.
Listening: note taking about a doctor's comments about food.
Speaking: planning
Revision and extension, listening test: revision of units 11 and 12.
3. How to make a fortune.
Reading: do/make; reading about winning a lottery; words about money
Picture discussion about being rich;
Use of English, relative clauses/pronouns
Composition: choose one of four alternative questions and write one (a report, a story,. an article giving an opinion or a book review.
Listening: eight extracts to identify with written explanations.
Speaking: prioritising..
Revision and extension: words about numbers; interaction.
