Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the theoretical foundations of communication in order to be able to recognize barriers in communication, to overcome communication problems and to be able to cope with problematic working situations. Attention is also paid to international business negotiations, its peculiarities, argumentative and persuasive techniques. At the same time the students will be acquainted with the basics of communication with the media and crisis management.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - identify and summarize the important features of communication, - apply theoretical features of communication theories to a specific situation, - identify the empathetic approach in communication, - apply the correct elements of verbal and non-verbal communication in practice - analyze manipulative elements in communication, - use the elements of active listening in practice, - apply knowledge of persuasion to concrete speech.
