Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach students the basics of working with the Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint).
Learning outcomes
Students are able to create text documents in Microsoft Word with using text formatting, paragraphs, styles and creating of content. Students are able to work with tables, images and charts in MS Word. Students are able to create spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel with using relative and absolute cell references, creating table with data, using styles for table, filtering data, working with charts, using formulas and functions, using grouping and subtotals, creating a pivot table and a pivot chart. Students are able to create databases in Microsoft Access with using right database structure, data import, query design, form design and report design. Students are able to create presentations in Microsoft Power Point.

Assessment methods

Student requirements: minimum 70% attendance at seminars, preparation and presentation of seminar paper in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, independent completion of practical tasks (Word, Excel, Access).  

Assessment methods: independent completion of practical tasks in Word, Excel, and Access (30% of assessment), preparation and presentation of seminar paper (30% of assessment), final exam (40% of assessment).
