Course objectives
The goal of the lectures and exercises of the course Applied Statistics is the description, explanation and application of basic, often used statistical procedures and methods.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to mathematical statistics - Basic notions, random sample, random sample distribution.
    2. Parameter estimates - point estimates, interval estimates.
    3. Statistical hypothesis testing - basic notions, significance tests, goodness-of-fit tests.
    4. Analysis of dependence - correlation coefficients, regression.
    5. Time series - Markov chains.
