The Performance Excellence Model (PEM) is a framework for a wider application of the TQM approach and is a unique managerial tool for evaluating the performance of an organization. The aim of the paper is to summarize the findings from the perspective of the utility of the model of excellence for organizations and on the example of the Czech award winning companies in NQA to demonstrate the positive development of selected financial indicators following the application of this strategic management framework. Based on the results of the case study we have found the positive relation in selected financial indicators after receiving awards. In terms of the Czech Republic, although the NQA system is in place, Czech companies are not so interested, even though they can get feedback and work on their approach within the set criteria of the EFQM model in NQA. Finally, the results of the EBIT and ROA proved the positive development of the companies, it was demonstrated on performance achieved by the TQM-oriented award winning companies. Generally speaking, the relevance of the EFQM excellence model and PEM approaches is very important and has an impact on the performance of organizations.
