This paper deals with the problematics of home quarantine caused by the SARS-CoV-2 and the reaction of civic society to a total stop of social and economic life in the Czech Republic. The Government completely stopped the life in the country and the state-controlled supportive and protective mechanisms failed. The next part describes the aftermath of a lockdown on different state levels and sudden problems associated with this. This part also deals with the basic description of the operation of voluntary assistance and cooperation with the government. In the final part, data from a few research surveys are analysed as well as the comparison with surveys conducted by different organizations on the topic of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), their functioning within the services they offer and problems they have to deal with is made. We assume that many situations will repeat themselves during the current second wave.
