I was working with a local folklore. Sjörå, a nymph, „Mistress of the Lake“, is often depicted sitting on a lake shore and combing her long, lustrous hair. In mythology, she is also known for luring and drowning disrespectful men. During my three-week residency stay in Tranås I was researching the Swedish mythology and I connected it with the local local lake, called Trollsjön, Troll Lake. I was evoking the nymph and I wrote a poem Speech of Sjörå, recorded my voice, and mixed it with the water sounds. This audio track was played during my performance art piece. The weather that day was very cold and the lake on the selected side was quite unsafe. I aimed to impersonate the humanoid water spirit and create an interaction with the mythical world.
