Course objectives
The aim of the lecture is to provide students with basic knowledge not only about the problems of medieval history, but also about their conception within European historiography. The lectures will emphasize the interpretation of historical phenomena and the creation of history as a construct influenced by social processes. A basic overview of European political, cultural and economic history of the Early Middle Ages will be supplemented through analysis of selected topics based on analysis of source material.
Learning outcomes
Student will gain basic knowledge not only about the problems of medieval history, but also about their conception within European historiography.
