Course objectives
The course characterizes animation and presentation as important ways of caring for material and spiritual culture and cultural heritage / monuments, as a means of transmitting information, interpretation and education of their history, functions and values ​​in relation to the public / clients of all ages, social and interest categories ( children, youth, families with children, seniors, educated people, people with special needs). It emphasizes modern approaches and the need to perceive animation and presentation in terms of creative educational methods, it uses the preservation of an objective and professional correct approach to the presentation of cultural history and cultural heritage.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- analyze modern approaches in the presentation of cultural heritage for different audience segments,
- to propose and explain a suitable method of presenting cultural heritage in relation to specific examples from practice.
Syllabus
  • 1. Terminology, literature, information sources.
  • 2. Cultural history and cultural heritage as objects of animation and presentation.
  • 3. Principles, procedures and tools of interpretation, including the basics of communication skills.
  • 4. Basic educational tools in the presentation and animation of cultural heritage.
  • 5. Basic presentation techniques and procedures (exposition, exhibition, gallery exhibition, diorama, exterior installations).
  • 6. Modern methods of presentation, audiovisual means.
  • 7. Animation and animation procedures in the context of the practice of memory institutions (museums, galleries, monuments, etc.).
  • 8. Animation and animation procedures in cultural tourism.
  • 9. Framework educational programs (lectures, workshops, guided tours, lecturer programs, etc.).
  • 10. - 12. Animation and presentation of selected topics in current practice (listening at events, programs of selected memory institutions in tourism).

Teacher's information
The purpose of the course is to acquaint students with the types of presentation and interpretation of the country house, namely the Raduň State Chateau. The aim is to apply theoretical knowledge in the field of animation and presentation in practice. Students will try to find ways to mediate its cultural and historical potential to different age, social and interest groups with regard to the preservation of the functions and values ​​of the monument. In the role of animator, they will, either individually or in groups, prepare materials on their chosen topic and then create specific types of outputs, programs, the implementation of which they will be able to verify in practice. Specifically, it is the creation of programs for children, or parents with children, possibly for seniors, as well as for people with reduced mobility and orientation. Attention will also be paid to the creation of new interior and exterior sightseeing tours, including educational programs, or the implementation of events that promote the monument in a suitable and appropriate way and address other visitors.

Projects:

Attention children - educational tours for children / families with children

Fear of emptiness - a sightseeing tour with a minimum of furniture

Without wifi - a program for the Z generation

Citrus and exotic plants in the chateau orangery - a topic for the implementation of educational programs

English park - scenery, or the possibility of another presentation?

- people with mental disabilities

- persons with combined disabilities

Grateful or demanding visitor - creating a program for seniors
