Course objectives
In the course, students will learn about the basics of the field of drama therapy and its contexts of origin and development. They acquire a basic awareness of concepts and terms related to the field. They will also become familiar with the broader anchoring in the field of art therapy and its components. The teaching will include a visit to one or two teaching drama therapy lessons in one of the facilities selected by the teacher. These will be lessons that are focused on art therapy or are drama therapy with specific groups of people.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to the issues of art therapy and drama therapy.
  • 2. Art therapy in the narrower sense of the word. Drawing and its analysis.
  • 3. Dramatherapy – historical contexts of the emergence of the field. Industry personalities.
  • 4. Terratherapy, music therapy, dance therapy...
  • 5. Puppet therapy – drama therapy lessons with puppets (structure, rituals, lecturers, space...).
  • 6. Drama therapy clients (terms: person with special needs, person with mental disability, person with physical disability, person with combined disabilities, ADHD, ASD...).
  • 7. Dramatherapy and theater therapy - connections and differences.
  • 8. Art therapy festivals.
  • 9. Attending a drama therapy or puppet therapy lesson in practice 1.
  • 10. Reflection of the lesson.
  • 11. Attending a drama therapy lesson or puppet therapy in practice 2.
  • 12. Reflection of the lesson.
  • 13. Joint discussion on subject topics. Formulation of drama therapy principles.
