Course objectives
The seminar course will focus on the development of knowledge gained from the lecture "History of the neighboring countries of the Bohemian Crown" based on the problem areas outlined below. Emphasis will be placed primarily on work with archival or editorially accessible sources and professional literature on the topic. On this basis, a discussion will then take place in the seminar.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be able to:
- work with various sources from the Middle Ages and early modern period
- work critically with literature
- write a scientific text

  • 2. The land of the Bohemian Crown - characteristics, origin and brief outline of development
  • 3. Accession of the Silesian principalities during the reign of the first Luxembourgers
  • 4. Hussite wars
  • 5. Interregnum and the Landfry movement in the neighboring countries of the Czech Crown
  • 6. Creation of the country - unification of Silesian principalities and Lusatia, the question of identity
  • 7. Centralization tendencies of Matyáš Korvín in Silesia and Lusatia
  • 8. State conflicts in the neighboring countries on the threshold of the modern age
  • 9. Reformation in Silesia and Lusatia

  • 11. The Thirty Years' War and the loss of Lusatia
