Course objectives
Kurtz is designed for students of history, museology and archeology. It follows the philosophy of history I. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with philosophical concepts in the history of philosophy and historiography from the Enlightenment 18th century after the selected concept today. Main topics: linear and cyclic-wave-theory, concept of historical progress (mechanical linear and dialectical) patterns in history, periods of history, historicism.
