Course objectives
The aim of the course is to prepare students to do the job in publishing of the popular scientific texts in the public media. Students will gain knowledge and consequently practical experience in the field of popular scientific publishing.
Syllabus
  • Basics of popular scientific journalism. Information in science and message to the public. Sources of information, searching for relevant resources. Communication with scientists, communication with journalists.
    Popular scientific publication seminary. Preparing press releases. Preparation of popular educational articles. Translation of popular-scientific publications. Taking the messages from external sources and their correct interpretation. Technical reviews, multimedia devices.
    Popular-scientific publishing. Students are tasked to prepare (with the teachers help) the popular educative texts regularly and publish them in public media.
