Course objectives
Familiarisation with proto-statistical sources of the 17 and 18 centuries both of state and church provenance considering the history of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown, with their development, basic characteristics and ways of their employment. Basic methods of work (analysis, criticism, interpretation) with sources of specific character will be introduced on samples of editions and reproductions of archival sources. These may be employed for comparative study of selected population, social, economic as well as cultural phenomena. The ways of determination of their information potential and credibility will be indicated as well as thematic scopes that employ them as principal sources.
