Course objectives
The lecture introduces the problems of the theory of art history, thus affecting the relationship of art theory and history, the relationship of art history and aesthetics, issues of historiography of art history and understanding of the history of art as a science. Other lecture topics include auxiliary sciences of history of art - topography, collecting and connoisseurship, iconography, the basic concepts of the theory and history of art: art, artistic nature, architecture, painting, sculpture, applied et / free versus art, the relationship of art and culture, the status of the work of art as monuments, relationship artistic form and content of the work, questions of artistic life. Attention will also be paid to the organization of art history in the Czech lands (academies, universities, museums, galleries, heritage preservation, magazines, current status - personalities, large editorial projects, exhibitions, etc.)
