Přímou účastí na archeologickém výzkumu, příp. průzkumu si posluchači rozšiřují získané znalostí o praktické dovednosti, nezbytné při práci v terénu. Předmět se realizuje především na archeologických průzkumech a výzkumech Ústavu archeologie a při zpracování jejich výsledků. O podmínkách realizace rozhoduje vedení Ústavu archeologie.
