Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce the wide and diverse field of theatre theory. The course deals with the main components of drama and their mutual relations, as well as key theoretical works and their authors. It will show various approaches to dramatic text and also requirements for its building (and their application in praxis) coming with each new developmental era. An important prerequisite for a good orientation in the field (and also the basis for quality discussions) is terminological knowledge: this is one of the objectives of this course. Its general intention is to define the phenomenon of drama and observe its interaction and overlapping with the other phenomenon - theatre.
