- Course objectives
- One of a term aim of the course is to acquaint students with anthropology as a comprehensive science of man. Special attention is paid to the descriptive and functional anatomy of the skeletal system (human osteology) with reference to the most common pathological changes of locomotive system. Moreover, students are familiar with the methods of anthropological treatment of human skeletal remains (polling, laboratory treatment, estimate gender and age, metric evaluation) and the basics palaeodemography and Evolutionary Anthropology (phylogeny man and his ancestors). The course also includes exercises in which students apply the acquired knowledge on anthropological material.

- 1 / Introduction to the study of anthropology. Inclusion of Anthropology in the science system. Distribution of the sub-disciplines of anthropology. A Brief History of World and Czech anthropology
