- Course objectives
- The course explains the forms of document communication from the earliest period to the present. It traces the beginnings of documentary communication in the society of ancient civilizations and its development in medieval and modern Europe. The form of documents, methods of their production and dissemination in individual periods are described. The processes that restricted the dissemination of certain documents, especially censorship, are also explained.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- describe the beginnings of document communication;
- describe the way of documentary communication over the centuries;
- explain and describe changes and processes that facilitated or hindered the dissemination of information (writing, letterpress, censorship, the industrial revolution, digitization;
- describe method and means of mass communication (book, its origin and distribution, periodicals);
- describe the development of document communication in the 21st century. - Syllabus
