- Course objectives
- The seminar is focused on the identification and documentation of the phenomena of traditional folk culture, current trends in ethnology, cultural anthropology and the issue of their presentation and media coverage. During the course, students will get acquainted with specialized museum institutions focusing on ethnography in the Czech and Slovak Republics - the subject of interest will be their specifics in documentation, selection, hoarding and presentation activities. Attention will also be paid to museums in nature, their development, importance, legislation and the organization of professional and documentary work.
- Learning outcomes
- The seminar is focused on the identification and documentation of the phenomena of traditional folk culture, current trends in ethnology, cultural anthropology and the issue of their presentation and media coverage. - Teaching methods
- The course will consist of lectures and seminars - students are expected to actively participate in all forms of teaching, as well as independent study of compulsory and recommended literature. The seminars will be supplemented by documentary material (photographs, visual material, video recordings, a visit to the current museum exhibition ...)
- Assessment methods
- The condition for granting credits is active participation in the course, independent completion of field research and processing of its results. The results of field research will be part of the project of the museum exhibition, which the student will process into a presentation.
