Course objectives
Students will acquire basic knowledge in the field of monitoring and documentation of nature and landscape using information technology.
Syllabus
  • 1. Collection of environmental information and assessment of the effectiveness of protected areas. The purpose of tracking changes.
    2. Spatio-temporal scale proportional change tracking. Life cycle, territory, area of ??distribution. Documentation. Accurate localization. The use of GPS.
    3. Track Changes. Changes in abiotic conditions. Changes mozaikovitosti habitat (map, aerial photo, RS - remote sensing).
    4. Changes in species composition, structure and physiognomy of the vegetation (species inventory, biomass, age structure). Changes in the abundance and distribution of species frequency.
    5. Monitoring and documentation of changes in species composition and physiological changes. Health monitoring (defoliation of trees).
    6. Indications pollutants. Indication of nutrients and pollutants in the environment. Accumulation of toxic elements. Bryophytes. Sphagnum moss.
    7. Changes in population structure. Demographic indicators. Age structure, mortality. Territoriality. Mozaikovitost cover.
    8. Changes in the community. Habitat change. Changes in the landscape. Landscape mosaic. Matrix, corridors, surfaces. Categories cover. CORINE land-cover. Land use categories (land use). Remote sensing (aerial and satellite images).
    9. Assessment of forest health by remote sensing. Changes in forest damage porostů.Využití remote sensing and geographic information systems in the documentation of the natural heritage.
    10. Monitoring in conservation. National system of monitoring plots in
    small protected areas. Program of monitoring large protected areas.
    11. International agreements in the area of ??documentation and protection of the natural heritage. Ecological networks in Europe.
