- Course objectives
- The aim of the seminar is to acquaint students with current methods and interpretive approaches in research on the history of pre-modern European societies on specific source material and on examples of historical studies that have become classical or paradigmatic in their fields. Attention is paid to the following areas: sociologizing history, cultural history, microhistory, history of mentalities, linguistic turn and postmodern historiography, historical anthropology, issues of collective memory, history of symbols and gender history.
