- Course objectives
- The aim and subject of the lectures is: to provide basic facts and to shed light on the tendencies of the development of the Czech, resp. Czechoslovak society from 1938 to the present, characterize individual state units and regimes, clarify political, economic and cultural development, capture continuous trends from pre-war and post-war years, characterize the period of Nazi occupation and war, post-war "limited" democracy and the communist system in its various stages, to capture political, economic and social development, the basic features of cultural development and everyday life, to point out the influence of the wider European and Central European context. The topics of the lectures are further developed and deepened in the form of a selective seminar. Selected chapters from the latest history II.

- 1. Introduction, analysis of literature and sources for the study of the latest Czechoslovak, resp. Czech history. 2. Pomnich Republic: political system and society 3. The war period in the territory of former Czechoslovakia and the process of liberation. 4. Domestic and foreign anti-Nazi resistance. 5. Principles of "limited democracy" 1945-1948. 6. Economic and social development of Czechoslovakia 1945-1948. 7. The crisis of the National Front in 1947 and the February coup of 1948. 8. The founding period of the communist system and its first crisis (1948-1953). 9. Problems of exile and emigration (1938–1989). 10. Persecution and forms of resistance after 1948. 11. Political development of Czechoslovakia in the 50s and 80s. 12. Economic and social development of Czechoslovakia since 1948. 13. Cultural development of Czechoslovakia 1938-1989.
