- Course objectives
- The course is an introduction to the issues of special museology and also introduces students to three special museologies and relevant branches of museum practice. The core of the course is an interpretation of music museology as a special museology, which crystallized into an independent discipline of museology, having a specific subject, methods, goal and terminology, as well as a relatively rich history. In this course, emphasis will be placed on the applied sphere of music museology (it will include excursions to the musicological department of the Silesian Museum in Opava). Furthermore, this course deals with theoretical, historical and practical aspects of technical museology (documentation methods, history, personalities, institutions).
